starting Club HM and its terms

If you've been paying attention at all, you know I'm in love with Club HM!  And you will be, too.  I have wholesale publishing points deposited in my account each month, so I'm saving 30% off retail on everything I publish, PLUS an extra 15-25% off at checkout!!!  That's 45-55% off retail price!  (Sometimes there are even more specials, depending on the month!)  PLUS with Club HM I get a Premier account ($20/month value) FREE.  This means I have a larger photo storage allowance (10-25 GB of unpublished photos and unlimited storage for all my published photos), as well as free access to the Premier Art collection of over 100,000 pieces of digital art and over 10,000 templates.  FREE.

That's huge savings.

So how do you start Club HM?  And what are the terms of Club HM?

There are two ways to start Club HM:
  1. Simply login to your account (or create one) at  From there, you click "my account" and join Club HM at the right side of the page.  You will notice that you only have the 3 options--Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
  2. Contact me to sign you up for Club HM.  If you have a few friends who would want to join Club HM, too, and start publishing with Heritage Makers, I can add your group as a workshop order and you can earn some free publishing points!  If you would like to host an in-home or online/virtual (live) workshop to give your friends all the Heritage Makers info they need to know, I'd be happy to do that.  Or, I have some recorded workshops online that you can point your friend to if she feels she needs more information before joining Club HM.
I know the word "Club" seems like a scary commitment to some people, so let me go over the terms of Club HM.  It's not scary at all!  In fact, it's just one benefit after another!!  Here's what you need to know about joining Club HM:
  • Club HM automatically renews each month in order to help people always have enough publishing points so we can continually publish since we're continually taking pictures!  If you don't want it to renew, you need to manually do this in your "my account" section.  It's easy to do.
  • You can change levels of Club HM depending on your need for publishing points.  You can start on Bronze, see how you like Heritage Makers, love it, then switch to Gold for a month or two so you have enough points for Christmas gifts (for example), then switch to Silver the next month, etc.
  • If you need to opt out of Club HM for a time, you can easily re-join Club HM at any time through your "my account" link.  Again, your Club HM will automatically renew unless you change it in "my account."
  • If you ever do opt out of Club HM, your account becomes Basic instead of Premier.  With a Basic account, your photo storage allotment is decreased to 2 GB of unpublished photos and 5 GB of published photos (although you can buy more photo storage space for $12.50 or 25 points per year for each additional 5GB).  With a Basic account, you no longer have access to Premier art or templates, but any you have already used stays in your account.  You will have access to the smaller Basic art collection.
  • YOU DO NOT LOSE YOUR PUBLISHING POINTS WHEN YOU ARE NO LONGER ON CLUB HM.  All publishing points are good for 1 year from the date of purchase and can be used for any item.  They stay right in your account!
  • Again, remember there is not a fee to join Club HM.  What you pay monthly just gives you publishing points (hugely discounted ones, at that!) to use for anything you want to publish.  You don't pay any money to get a discount.  You just get the discount because you want it.  That's it!
If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.  Or check more around this blog.  Club HM is really the way to go.  I know someone who does ONLY Christmas cards through Heritage Makers, and Club HM is the way to go for her as well.  She literally just uses her account every November, but she's on Club HM all year long so that she can get those publishing points all saved up during the year.  For me, I am on a higher level of Club HM because I use it constantly, and I do teacher thank-yous and sympathy cards and Christmas gifts along with individual scrapbook pages (my personal preference because it fits the system I already had in place) for my everyday photo-taking, plus craft items, home decor, and...  pretty much everything.  Club HM is a TRULY great fit for anybody!  As I said before, it's really just one benefit after another.  It's THE BEST WAY to use Heritage Makers personal publishing!!

benefits for Heritage Makers consultants

I've posted before about the reasons I personally love being a Heritage Makers consultant, but it's been so interesting to me lately to learn why other people are interested in it.

As I've had people come to me and express interest in joining my great little team of consultants, I have loved hearing what they have to say about what is drawing them to this business.  A common theme is "I want to work from home; I want to earn $100/$500/$1000+ extra income each month," but I also had a woman tell me, "My last child is leaving home, and I am looking for something that will help me get out there and be social and do something that will be personally fulfilling for me."  It just made me think of what a varied group of people HM consultants are, and how great it is that this one company can satisfy so many needs and goals.

When I posted before about why I love being a consultant with Heritage Makers, I talked a lot about how much I enjoy sharing something so meaningful and important.

And that's all fine and good, but I know that people who are looking for a work-from-home job want to know more.  What ARE all the benefits Heritage Makers consultants get?

(and, yes, I made this in my Heritage Makers account.  Cool, right?)

So there are obviously some great things on this list, and I truly love all of them, but I especially love never having a minimum to meet.  There are some months where MY LIFE takes over, and I am busy, and it's nice to just be able to say, "I'm taking this month off" without having the company require anything of me.  I have to say, though, that the recurring income that comes from Club HM memberships really helps my income stay constant during those busy times, so that is a great benefit.  There are always incentive competitions, too, that help motivate and drive people who enjoy those, but at the same time it's not something required.  You are free to just make your business YOUR business.

It's pretty great!

By "mentor," I mean your consultant.  That would be me!  :)   I have a small team of consultants right now, and I lead them along as they begin their businesses.  I am always looking to grow my team, too, so if you or someone you know would like more specific information about the job, commission details, etc., please e-mail me at and ask.  I have several documents I can e-mail you, and we can always chat on the phone, too, if you'd like.  I can answer any question you have!  I have tons of experience with Heritage Makers, and I can help you along every step of the way as you begin your business.  You are NEVER on your own with Heritage Makers, and you have multiple resources for help and training, as you desire.  Again, your business/goals/training is totally up to you, but everything is in place to help you succeed.

Plus, it's really fun!!

teacher appreciation gifts

I absolutely love giving Heritage Makers for Teacher Appreciation Day or year-end thank-yous.  Other popular gifts are flowers or gift cards, but I don't like how those are used up and gone (and forgotten) before the summer is over.  Especially when the teacher is excellent, and you want to truly thank her/him for being fantastic for your child, I feel like something heartfelt is just irreplaceable.  And guess what--the same price as you'd pay for flowers or a gift card.  I love that.

Here are some of the books I've made over the years for some really fabulous women.

These are from just my child, with the whole book completed by him/her.  Click the links below the pictures to be able to scroll through the whole books.

I've also made books from the entire class as teacher thank-yous, and those are equally wonderful!  The teachers always think it's the best thing they've ever gotten.  Because it is!  (Again, you can click the links below the pictures if you want to scroll through to see all the pages of the books.)

There are a lot of teacher thank-you templates in the Template Gallery if you don't want to design something yourself.  Teacher thank-yous are very popular with Heritage Makers users, so you are bound to find something you like.

These are not all the books I've made, but they give you a good idea of the possibilities.  I will admit I have made more than one teacher cry (and then I cry, too).  But teachers deserve something special and heartfelt for all their amazing work!!

I have made mostly 5x5 hardbound books (about $26) and 6x6 wirebound books (about $15), but I've sometimes made 8x8 books if all the class is contributing (they're about $37).

And they're WAY BETTER than flowers!!
