scrapbooking or storybooking your photos: tip 3

Ten tips in ten days!

Setting aside time on my calendar is a huge part of how I stay caught up preserving my photos and memories.  I'm rarely more than 2-3 months behind.  (At this writing, I have not yet preserved in my family yearbook the pictures I took last week.  So I'm a week "behind.")

I hold events all the time to help people set aside time on their calendars!  Check out my upcoming events here--we'd love to have you join us!  Most events are free, and all events are fabulous.

And don't miss that little extra tip I mentioned!  Sometimes when we think about preserving photos, we think about storing them digitally (here's the best way I know of to do that, hands down!), but there's actually a huge difference between STORING something and PRESERVING it.

You can learn more about the difference between storing and preserving and the best ways to do both here:

Whether you're looking for an "easy button" method, a quick and easy template method, or fully creative and flexible digital scrapbooking, you can find it all here.  And you can't lose--every one of those options is printed and bound at highest quality, with a photo privacy guarantee!  Get started right away!

scrapbooking or storybooking your photos: tip 2

Ten tips in ten days!

Think about it.  Ten minutes a day just 4 days a week is 160 minutes, or a little less than 3 hours a month.  That's 36 hours a year.

Think about how much time you spend on your photos and memories right now.  Would 3 hours a month be an improvement or make a difference?

UPDATE 2022:  While Heritage Makers is "under construction" (a platform update since Adobe discontinued Flash, which Heritage Makers' Studio runs on, in 2020), Photo & Story Treasures also recommends Forever, with the same heirloom-quality books and pages and photo privacy promise.

Forever actually has three different methods (print platforms) for preserving your photos and memories, so you could choose an "easy button" option, a fast and easy pre-designed template option, or a fully creative digital scrapbooking option.  See all three options here and choose whichever fits you best.   Or watch me walk you through each one here:

Artisan does require a computer (it's a downloaded software program), but the Forever app makes it easy to take advantage of 10 minute spurts here and there (waiting to pick up kids from school???) to upload and organize--even tag--your photos.  AutoPrint and Design & Print are online platforms you could access from anywhere on just your phone or tablet.

There are lots of ways to take advantage of 10 minutes here and there!  Give it a try and see how it adds up!

scrapbooking or storybooking your photos: tip 1

For the next 10 days, I'm posting 10 tips for success in getting a handle on your photos (digital can be out of control, right?) and then publishing them!!

Photos don't mean anything when they're just amassed--they need to be interacted with.  So let's get those photos into PRINT!

Keep checking back every day for the next ten days for all the tips!

UPDATE 2022:  Since product (photo-storybook) quality and photo privacy are the main focus at Photo & Story Treasures, we recommend both Heritage Makers and Forever.  Forever has an app (free) as well as an auto-sync option, which makes this tip so easy!

In fact, the Forever app's "sync" is much better than other photo cloud storage "syncs" because Forever's isn't a true sync--and I'll tell you why that's so important!

(I learned this from a professional photo organizer.)  With most photo cloud storage companies, your phone is directly connected to your photo storage so it syncs.  So what that means is that whatever you do to one, you do to the other.  In other words, if you delete a photo from your phone, it's also deleted from your cloud storage.  (She told me there are ways around this, but most people don't even know about it!)

Forever's sync isn't like that.  If you turn on the auto-sync feature, then photos from your phone or tablet are automatically uploaded to your Forever account, but then they stay there.  You are then free to delete them from your phone if you like!

Forever Storage (where your photos are stored) offers things no other cloud photo storage service does, too, including:

and you get to stop paying monthly fees for photo storage because with Forever you actually BUY the storage and then OWN it--you don't "rent" it!

Definitely get in a regular habit of uploading your photos to your memory-keeping account so that you're always one step closer to being able to put them in scrapbooks or storybooks!
