Setting aside time on my calendar is a huge part of how I stay caught up preserving my photos and memories.  I'm rarely more than 2-3 months behind.  (At this writing, I have not yet preserved in my family yearbook the pictures I took last week.  So I'm a week "behind.")

Think about it.  Ten minutes a day just 4 days a week is 160 minutes, or a little less than 3 hours a month.  That's 36 hours a year.  

Think about how much time you spend on your photos and memories right now.  Would 3 hours a month be an improvement or make a difference?

For the next 10 days, I'm posting 10 tips for success in getting a handle on your photos (digital can be out of control, right?) and then publishing them!!  

Photos don't mean anything when they're just amassed--they need to be interacted with.  So let's get those photos into PRINT!

Forever has a free app as well as an auto-sync option, which makes this tip so easy!

In fact, the Forever app's "sync" is much better than other photo cloud storage "syncs" because Forever's isn't a true sync--and I'll tell you why that's so important!

I learned this from a professional photo organizer:  With most photo cloud storage companies, your phone is directly connected to your photo storage so it syncs.  So what that means is that whatever you do to one, you do to the other.  In other words, if you delete a photo from your phone, it's also deleted from your cloud storage.  (She told me there are ways around this, but most people don't even know about it!)  

Forever's sync isn't like that.  If you turn on the auto-sync feature, then photos from your phone or tablet are automatically uploaded to your Forever account, but then they stay there.  You are then free to delete them from your phone if you like!

There is an option to auto-upload photos from your phone or tablet to your Forever Storage, or you can upload manually, choosing which photos and videos you want to save forever.  Even when you choose auto-upload (sometimes referred to as auto-sync) with Forever, it's true photo storage, not just a cloud backup directly connected to your device.

I just read a great article, and when I first came across it, I knew I would be nodding all the way through it.  I was right--she is SPOT ON.  This is a must-read, so take just a few minutes over at:

Back in 2005, I was approached by a couple of friends of mine (separately) who had come across this brand new company called Heritage Makers where you could write your own hardbound books, complete with photos and stories.  At the time, telling life stories or love stories or adoption stories was the main idea, and as the idea of personal publishing blossomed quickly, people were quickly seeing how they could print all their digital photos this way.  

Both of my friends had joined Heritage Makers as consultants.  I had just had my third baby, and I was definitely not looking for a job.  But I just couldn't turn it down.  Photos and journals and history and connections are so important.  I can call them my passion.  

So when I came across this beautiful, easy avenue for photos, journals, history, and connections to be a part of everyone's life, I couldn't say no.

That said, I'd never been a fan of direct marketing.  I'm really introverted and a little shy and I HATE pressure.  So for ME to say a whole-hearted YES to Heritage Makers like I did is really saying something.

Over the past ten years, though, I've seen some great benefits to direct marketing, and I've learned that I can do no-pressure direct marketing MY WAY, even as an introvert, and actually have a lot of fun doing it.  

The secret?  My passion.

That's a compilation of what I've learned in the last month or so as I've researched direct marketing (after having worked it for ten years).  Isn't it interesting?
