FAQ
Why digital?
First, there's no "right way" to scrapbook, except for two things: 1- quality so your book will last for many, many years to come, and 2- something you will love and therefore do.
I personally choose digital because it's faster and easier, taking up less space in my house than the papers and scissors and stickers (and table space) I needed when I was a paper scrapbooker. I like that instead of having to crop (cut) a photo to make it fit, I can easily resize, zoom in, etc.
I also love the ability to print multiple copies with just the click of a button, and for safety reasons I like that my scrapbooks exist both digitally and in print. (I have scanned my old paper scrapbooks for the same reason.)
Why digital just to print it?
Aside from what I mentioned above: Accessibility! Yes, I print my digitally-created scrapbooks because print is an easily-accessible form of seeing and also sharing (and gifting!) photos and memories. Print doesn't need a full battery in an expensive gadget. Plus, photo experts still recommend print as an important way to store photos and memories, in addition to digital forms.

Your pages are beautiful. I love the idea of using a favorite photo as a background page.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Amy! :) Yes, it's a really fun option and a great way to highlight a favorite photo.
DeleteThese are gorgeous! I especially love how you used the landscape photo as a background page. I haven't done something like that in ages. I have a couple of pages from when my boys were really little where I had my photos made into 12x12 size and then used some wallet sized photos on top.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joanne. :) Wow, I didn't even know you could have a photo made into a 12x12 size. That's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing. :)
DeleteJennifer, I love your pages. They're packed with beautiful memories, and I love the designs you went with. I also love the idea of going digital. It makes things a lot easier as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephanie. :) Yes, digital really does make things a lot simpler. And faster, too! Thanks for stopping in and sharing your thoughts with us. I really enjoyed these designs as well.
DeleteGorgeous pages.
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly, Linda! :) I appreciate you stopping in.
DeleteI love your scrapbooks! My daughter does a digital scrapbook at the end of each year. It's so fun to look through it and see all the adventures (and ordinary days too) that made up her year.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lisa. :) It really is such a treasure to look through a year's worth of photos and memories preserved. I love the highlights and focus on the positive that the adventures and ordinary days bring back to our memories when we see them again. I'm glad your daughter does that! Thank you for visiting and for sharing your experience with us.
DeleteLovely pages! I especially like your thought that scrapbooking is not just reliving memories, but re-loving them.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa. :) Yes, my sister-in-law said that to me once ("re-loving"), and it's such a perfect way to describe photo-memory books and scrapbooks. Happy you stopped by!
DeleteThese are great fun and wonderful layouts. I've done lots of digital scrapbooking in my past and it's always fun when you can get just the right photos, just the way you want them!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jeanie. :) And you're right--there's a satisfying moment when everything comes together the way you want. Thank you for stopping in and sharing your thoughts with us.

DeleteI love the following statement you have used Jennifer;
ReplyDelete"Scrapbooking isn't just re-living memories. It's re-loving them." ~Janna W.
How true! I really love doing my family's scrapbooks & do both hard copies & digital. One each for the grandchildren up to 18 years old of their lives which is their 18th birthday gift. Only to to go now out of seven.
Then I do digital photo books of big family events for the whole family every so often as gifts too.
You're most welcome to join me in a cuppa at Tea With Jennifer. Visiting from Stephanie's today.
Blessings, Jennifer

DeleteI so admire how you keep such beautiful scrapbooks! I really aspire to this. And what a great idea to use a favourite photo as a background!
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly, April. It's such a peaceful gratitude practice, and I really enjoy doing it. Yes, I love the photo-as-a-background style, too. Thank you for stopping in and for sharing your thoughts with us.
DeleteThat is such a beautiful layout! I love the idea of using a favorite scenery photo as the full-page background—it's so lovely. I love your scrapbook pages. Jennifer, thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephanie. Yes, I thought the scenery photo as a background turned out really nicely. Sometimes the scenery is the main draw, so it's nice to highlight it that way.
