For Delivery Drivers at the Holidays

Most of the gift ideas I've posted on this blog (since 2009!) are for people we know--parents, kids, friends, siblings, grandparents, coworkers.  Today, though, we're going to focus on the faceless, nameless folks who help our holidays be as convenient as possible:  delivery drivers!

I'll highlight a darling delivery driver gift sign that is:

  • creative and 100% unique because I designed it myself
  • easy to snap up for yourself with a click

And then we'll look at ideas for gifting goodies to delivery drivers during the holidays right from the comfort of your porch.

I saw the idea for thanking delivery drivers several years ago on Pinterest--where you put out thank-you snacks for delivery drivers on your porch at the holidays--and I've been doing it ever since, only I have used a sad, sorry sign printed on a piece of paper that I put in a sheet protector to hopefully keep it undamaged from the elements.

It looked good the first year.

It looked OKAY the first year.

It was pretty unreadable by last year.  So, when I saw a fellow FOREVER Ambassador post this brilliant idea of making a sign from a Metal Panel, I HAD TO.  I just had to.

What It's Made From

The Metal Panel is 8x10 and is made from premium ChromaluxeⓇ (giving it a vibrant, lasting finish) and has a glossy coating which makes it resistant to water, scratches, and UV-induced fading.  That makes it perfect for the Metal Panel's intended use:  on your wall.

It also makes it perfect to put my delivery driver sign outside!  I love how gorgeous it is, but I also love how sturdy it is.  I will be able to use this year after year.

It does come with Shadow Mounting hardware (which gives a floating appearance on your wall), but because I am just putting this outside, right in the bucket of snacks, I won't be using the mounting hardware.

This metal print is perfect for a tub or cart of snacks on your porch to thank delivery drivers during the busy winter holidays.

How to Use It

Simple!  Prop up the Delivery Driver Thanks Metal Panel in a bucket of snacks like I did (above), or attach it to your cart or bucket with a zip tie (like Erica did below--you can see it attached at the top of her cart at the right).

Yes, she has a lot more snack options than I do!  I have a medium-sized bucket.  She has an aisle at Target.  Lucky delivery drivers!

How To Get Your Own

As you probably know by now, if you've seen my latest DIY and Crafts creations here at LifeTales Books, there's always an option to make this yourself, but if you want the Easy Button, you can order what I've made with just a click.

So, to get your own sign to thank your delivery drivers at the holidays:
  • You can order my Delivery Driver Sign here, following the directions at the right.  You can see the current sale price at the right also--I suggest waiting for a 50% off sale, which happens about once a month.  OR:
  • Especially if you are looking for AMAZING digital scrapbooking and products:  Get Artisan and either the Kit with just the digital art or the Signs designs using the links below.  Design away!  Have fun!  (I'm totally in love.)
NOTE:  I am a Forever affiliate called an Ambassador (a decision I made because I love it so much), so you will find affiliate links in this post. I earn a commission from anything purchased at my website, and being your Ambassador means I'm here to help you with questions, too.  If you're new to Forever and open your free account here to give it a try, you'll get a $20 welcome coupon towards this sign!

And, of course:  Credit where credit is due.

  • Erica Burg came up with this idea, which she created using Artisan digital scrapbooking software by FOREVER and digital art from the Special Delivery Kit by Mags Graphics.
  • Following the excitement this amazing idea generated after Erica posted about it in our Facebook group, Mags Graphics made a special art collection called Special Delivery Enhanced 8x10 Signs.
  • I wanted my own sign, so I designed this unique project using Artisan and Special Delivery Enhanced 8x10 Signs by Mags Graphics.  It's "enhanced digital art," meaning I can rearrange all the individual pieces.  So, my sign design doesn't look exactly like any of the pre-designed ones in the art collection.  (Plus, I used a different font which I like better!)

Delivery Driver Thank-You Snack Ideas

I'll share with you the snacks I've given and seen others give to thank our delivery drivers at such a busy time of year, but tell me in the comments below what I should add to the list!

  • granola bars
  • trail mix packets
  • water bottles or juice bottles (plastic for safety if it freezes)
  • fancy hot chocolate or apple cider packets inside a disposable insulated cup with lid (not something they can enjoy now, but hopefully fun to take home)
  • individually wrapped Christmas candies
  • snack size chips, popcorn, Goldfish, or pretzels
  • cans or bottles of soda pop (if you're in a warm area that won't freeze)
  • fresh fruit (just be cautious it doesn't freeze if you live somewhere where that's a possibility)
  • fruit strips (the grown-up version of fruit snacks)
  • fruit crisps (freeze-dried fruit)
  • energy bars
  • moon cheese
  • individually wrapped beef (or turkey) jerky sticks
  • protein shakes
  • granola bites
  • pre-packaged Rice Krispy Treats (sometimes they have festive designs in November & December)
  • fun-size candy bars (festive, if possible)
What else would be a great snack to leave for a busy delivery driver at the holidays?

Share this with someone you know who would love this darling idea!
